Are we talking about nickels from the 2018 Reverse Proof or the 2017 Enhanced Uncirculated sets?

Quote: Wasn't 2018 the first year they did the coins like that with a so I we reverse and regular obverse Your topic title mentions the reverse; your quote above mentions the obverse and reverse; However, you are showing the edge of the coin. Since the pictures aren't focused enough, perhaps you should try telling us in words, and in great detail, what you are seeing on this nickel and re-phrase your original question.

Ok let me try to better explain a lol better....I found this coin and when I looked at the edge I could tell that the reverse side has a different finish than the obverse it looks like a silver finish or proof type of finish. That is why you can see the two dicfere t type if metal on the edge...tbat make more sense sorry I am new to all this and have a crappy camera or knowledge of how to use the camera

Without seeing each side of the coin, we can't say for sure what's going on. Those pictures of the edge suggest some kind of damage, but they're not very clear.

OK I think he has discovered the shear marks on the edge of the coin from where it was punched out of the strip. They don't usually show real well because they can get crushed ny the upsetting of the rime or from being pressed against the collar during striking, but sometime they will show very clearly on the finished coin. On side of the edge will be dull and the other shiny from the shearing.

The misspellings, lack of punctuation and capitalization errors make it difficult to understand what you're wanting to communicate.
