Wasn't even sure how to title this one. Looks like a standard off center hit pretty hard as the bit that was struck is very thin and strongly tilted up toward the obverse. Kinda guessing that the big scratches (the high points of the bent coin, were from the machinery pushing the coin along in some manner. Any insights would be appreciated as this looks like post strike damage not post mint damage. Interesting how the scratches are crosshatched in places (see close up image).

Not your typical off center stuck coin, that's for sure. I have no idea what caused it tho.

I have a nickel that closely matches the degree of being off center, but it has no lines like that on either side. It may have been caused by Mint machinery, but it may also have been caused by third-party sorting machinery (e.g. Brinks)

In any case, it looks like damage from being stuck in machinery, not from direct human action.

Interesting piece! If this coin was sent in for slabbing, do y'all think that it would come back as "details"?
