@jj29, first welcome to CCF. Second, I note that the mintmark is filled as a result of the die post being broken. Perhaps the part of the die that created the fourth digit in the date was also slightly damaged prior to striking this coin. Otherwise, this is plain damage to the coin.

Although the pics are a little blurry you can see that the Die was showing some pretty heavy wear. The striations running from the rim to the bust tells that. I would like to see close up pics of the rest of the devises.

Might also be some circulation damage there.  to the CCF!

I have a 1978 Denver Mint dime that is a lot like the guys that you just replied to where I and W In God We Trust are almost all the way missing is it worth anyting other than a dime? Tried to send pictures but can't figure out how to
