It's time for a summary!

And the least favorite designs are:
13 - presidential series
8 - SBA dollar
7 - State Quarters
6 - Sac dollar
5 - new Jefferson nickels
4 - V nickels
4 - Roosevelt dime
3 - Barber series
3 - Lincoln cents
2 - Standing Liberty quarter
2 - Washington quarter
1 - Ike dollar
1 - Peace dollar
1 - nickel Three Cent
1 - 2 cent
1 - Franklin half dollar
1 - Shield nickel
1 - bust dimes/half dimes
1 - Eunice Shriver commemorative
1 - 1793 flowing hair cent
1 - 1792 Half Disme
1 - bald eagle series

I have to add my vote for the new nickel obverse design. The former one was great, why did they ever think of changing it!

I think the Pres series in only proofs are sharp coins.

I never knew that Eunice Shriver was on a coin. Turns out it was on the 1995 Special Olympics Commemorative Silver Dollar.

Probably the ike obverse. the late braided hair cents looked kind of boring, too.

The Madison Presidential dollar has to be the ugliest looking coin in the entire series. James Madison looks like rodent caught in a rainstorm.

I hope I didn't offend any Madison Dollar collectors.

The presidential series would have to be my least favorite by far. My second least favorite would have to be a large portion of the State Quarters. To me, they don't seem to have very good designs. At least not very original designs.

I agree about the State Quarters. The proofs are much better than the coins released for circulation. Florida is my least favorite. What do other members think?

Most people hit on mine, in no particular order:
  • The Ike obverse is boring but I love the coin because as a kid I thought it was something to get a coin that big.
  • The reverse of the Texas State Quarter. Very uncreative.
  • Presidential - because they are such a pain in the arse to collect. PCGS list 21 different varieties on the Washington alone.

The 2005 Jefferson obverse is so bad even Jefferson himself didn't get his whole head on it and it lasted only 1 year. The 2006 Jefferson to present looks like a hippy high on pot.
It's like a dumb ending to a long movie for me.
Ironic that I like the side profile of Jefferson best and it is one of my favorite coins to collect. Now I hope they end the Jefferson era or go back soon to the 1938 design.

I don't like SBA Sac's Ike's and the Roosevelt dimes are boring as hakes.
I cringe when I get any modern dollar coins in change.

Best coin series are Buffalo nickels, Indian head pennies, Walkers, Mercs, and some Commemoratives from the earlier 20th century, Oregon Trail tops that list.
Any Silver Dollar and Gold Indians 5 and 10's are cool and St. Gaudens Double Eagles of course.
All Large cents are neat as well as Half Cents.

Okay, I now have a new least favorite coin, the 2009 Lincoln cents. What is wrong with the US mint? Are the designs getting worse and worse? I could have done a better job designing these coins. However, I suppose if their goal was to destroy the penny, they may actually succeed!

It's already been said, but I to must say the SBA is horrendous. Right up there with the presidentials IMO.

Hi:
My favourite is Walking Liberty half. In my, humble opinion it the MOST BEAUTIFUL COIN in U.S.Series.
Uncommoncents: All of us can request the Comittee, that decides the Design of coins and request for better designs, quality etc.,
Mr.Edmond Moi, Director of U.S. Mint, meet the coin collectors, general public in ANA coin shows. If we come accross such an occasion, we can represent the same, to him, personaly.
Malissadawn: U.S.Economy, Mother of All Economies is not in good shape. Failure of Lehman Brothers have sent 'shock waves' to our country's financial markets.
But I am sure, U.S.Economy will improve and things will change.
They say, TO MAKE A 5 CENT COIN, IT COSTS 9-CENTS TO THE U.S.MINT. So, metalic changes/combination are inevitable.
Seatednut: Your comments on Barber halves are, just wonderful.
I am assembling A Barber halves SET. So, I read some information on them and wish to share with the Forum Members.

1903-O --- " 10 " "
1904-O ---- " 10 " "
1905-O " $ 5,250 " 15 " "
The story goes on like this.
One of the Pillars of this community have kindly helped me with 1914 Barber Half in Good grade. But it was very tough to find it. The lowest minted in the series.
Presidential dollars are History Book of U.S.A., Several Million collectors ALL OVER THE WORLD collect them. The State Quarters and Prez. Dollars have 'brought in' millions of collectors, into this hobby again.
Each one of us, has the liberty to select and collect whatever each like. BUT CONTINUE YOUR TASTE. No stop to this hobby of wonderful people.
