Weird Nckel Found - Coin Community Forum

Somebody had extra time on their hands and a punch tool with a C on it and gave it a whack. Bet there is evidence on the other side of a punch hitting the coin. Curiosity piece and altered coin. They were having a severe nickel shortage in North Carolina in the late 70s so they reopened the Charlotte Mint for a couple of weeks just to strike nickels!
