I have a 1921 Peace dollar that has a strange mark on the obverse side. It is in front of her mouth and looks like she is spitting out something from her mouth! I was informed that the mark on her face by her mouth could be a rare Strike Through error made when the coin was minted. If anyone has any information on this coin and the type of error it is I would greatly appreciate the input..

To the CCF It could be a strike through or it could be damage. Pictures are necessary before making a decision.

Don't see anything. Are you using the Preview before you post to see what you are actually posting?

Looks like maybe a struck through debris? I do not consider this to be rare and not worth much of a premium if any.IMHO. John1

A minor struck through, not really big enough to warrant much of a premium. A struck through debris is not really that rare unless it is a large one.

Looks to me like a PMD gouge. Either way, I would consider it a distraction and decrease value.

Why are there not pictures of both sides of the whole coin? Just showing us a thin band of the obverse makes no sense.
Anyway....I would not put any more money in it getting it authenticated if it were mine. That is money that's hard to recover.
