Im new to coin collecting and came across these two. On the reverse side of the 1968 quarter lines are going though the united states of america and quarter dollar lettering..and the lettering seems off. On the 1965 quarter the 1965 seems to not fit and the I in the In god we trust looks almost missing the Y in liberty gets cut off. On the reverse side another line looks to be going through the words. Please help. What kind of error if this is one. Weighed them and it came out to 5.55 g. Now really sure what that means either..maybe there worth something..maybe not but figured someone here could help. Thank u!

@Krystle88, first welcome to CCF. Second, while your couple pics are pretty good, the subsequent pics are a bit too small to be helpful. From what I can see, both quarters are well worn and the lines that you see are just the result of damage. On the '65, the letters and rim are wider due to wear and are now running together. Sorry but I think that you have a pair of spenders here.

The best way to compare coins are not to look at different years. Designs change. Best to compare with the same years. Also compare with BU examples. Circulation alters coins. If you want to compare with a BU coin, use PCGScoinfacts. They have images of graded coins as large as near 6000 pixels width. I use edited images from them educational purposes to show devices easier. That's what I do.

Here is an example that I used from such images/ There was a thread on the 1982 quarters and there was an issue with master hub spread. Using various years I was able to show how the master hub spread out when compared with other years:

I was able to make this image to show how it was a progression spread and how in 1983, they created a new master hub.
