Your not much of an expert if you can't educate & teach what you preach

I believe the correct spelling is you're, not "your". If you guys are jealous of my expertise, just wait until I show you some of the highlights of my collection! It'll have you smashing your computers.

NumismaticExpert,

I think you are starting off on the wrong foot here. Kudos to you for posting and drawing attention to a coin you felt was a counterfeit.
But my suggestion would be to tone down the cocky rhetoric and insults. It's not necessary to gain the respect of this community. We all love to have experts as members, but those with abrasive attitudes tend to turn other folks off and most times create a toxic forum experience.
Does this make sense to you?

And by the way to CCF!

Mike, I like the cut of your jib. If only everyone here shared your attitude, there would be no need for cocky rhetoric and insults. I believe my work here (on this thread) is done. Look forward to communicating with more decent individuals such as yourself and hope to avoid some of the double digit IQ basement dwellers I unfortunately had to encounter on this thread.

Ugh! That is NOT the type of comment I was hoping to get back.

There is no need for that in any case. I don't care if you're Prince William's baby, a cocky attitude and insulting behavior is not acceptable here and will be dealt with.

A self proclaimed expert that likes to insult and ridicule. Not what I've been accustom to over the years on the Coin community family

Hello to everyone on this thread. I am the seller of this coin. I run a small antique shop and dabble in coins. I am, by no means, an expert. I have been an active seller at ebay for 20 years, with integrity and perfect feedback. I never intend to misrepresent an item or mislead a buyer. I have an appointment with a coin expert tomorrow, and will have this coin verified before ever proceeding with the sale. I'll let you all know what that expert says and have a discussion about it with the buyer before we move forward. I appreciate the forum user who contacted me to let me know there were questions about the validity of this coin. Rest assured, we have never and will never intentionally sell fake or counterfeit items.
to the Community!

Do let us know what you find out from the expert.

NumismaticExpert- So this guy "redshed" apparently establishes an account on the forum and logs-into the thread to defend himself and his character. He could have been hiding under his desk, don't you think?!?

I think I'll buy something off him today..........get my point?

What work would that be? To stir up the members and lower yourself in everyone's eyes? If so I think you have done an admirable job. If you mean to warn of a potential counterfeit and educate in how to recognize it, I feel you haven't even begun.

Is it just me or does he sound a lot like Ed Wood?

What an odd exchange. NumismaticExpert came here to do a good deed and help identify a fake coin. When people asked specifics about why he thought so, he seemed to think that people were questioning his expertise and got very defensive. Its unfortunate because he may have had some good input. This thread was a learning experience in more ways than one.

You seem like a smart guy, and have already shown that, but you don't need to take this cocky attitude as it isn't really helping anybody. Instead, try and share your knowledge with other so they can learn, there no point in trying to belittle people, try and go about this constructively and this hobby can greatly benefit for your knowledge and experience.

This goes for others as well.
