Looks more like an elongated cent.

Any chance of you posting non-distorted pics of this cent? In the meanwhile I agree that it looks like the die may have had some grease in it causing some of the letters and numbers to not be fully struck up.

When I use my microscope you'll see R in liberty and S in trust are normal.
All of the other letters are foggy.

My vote is for a "grease-filled die". I'd argue that not enough of the design elements are missing to add much numismatic value to this coin, but I'd be interested to hear what others think about that.

It's a Struck Through Grease issue. It's not severe enough to have a premium over face value though.

Your pictures make the coin look thin.
If so, then a thin planchet could be the cause of the weak strike.

Note the rims? A sign that a full strike happened. Your coin is a Grease Filled Die issue.

Current obverse image suggests Grease Filled Die, pending the reverse and weight are normal. Thanks, Doug.
