Looks more like an elongated cent.  Any chance of you posting non-distorted pics of this cent? In the meanwhile I agree that it looks like the die may have had some grease in it causing some of the letters and numbers to not be fully struck up.

When I use my microscope you'll see R in liberty and S in trust are normal. All of the other letters are foggy.

Your pictures make the coin look thin. If so, then a thin planchet could be the cause of the weak strike.

Note the rims? A sign that a full strike happened. Your coin is a Grease Filled Die issue.

 Current obverse image suggests Grease Filled Die, pending the reverse and weight are normal. Thanks, Doug.
