@BC, it looks entirely raised above the surface of the coin, which is a good start. Any chance that you can pick it off with a wooden toothpick?

It looks like a Cud to me but it's shaped so funny it makes me second guess myself, I'm giving it a tentative yes for now but let's see what others say.

To me it looks more like a struck through debris issue. If it were a Cud, the rim would be missing. The reverse at 11:00 looks like the coin was dropped.

Can I ask just what you guys are looking at? His title says: 1944 Cud or just damage? But the first picture is a LMC. Looks like a chip on the corner of the building. I thought Cuds were on the rims of coins. Where are you looking on the LWC? That little hit above the "O" on GOD? I don't see anything else on that 44 Wheat cent.
