Here's an interesting find for your consideration and scrutiny. Another funny thing is that this cent weighs 2.5 grams, which is correct for the later memorial back cents but light for this type. Also note that on side B there is some damage and striations (lamination?) on the high points - shoulder, hair, ear, eyebrow, tip of nose. The sides are in exact medal alignment.
Would love to hear your opinions before I sell it off on ebay.

It is a trick/magicians coin. Two coins machined, one fits inside the other.

From your pics, I think I can see where the "Side A" was hollowed out and a second obverse (minus the rim) was fit into the space. If you carefully look just inside the rim there's a visible seam.

I agree. Next to the rim on side A, you can see a small seam next to the rim. "Magic" coin.

Ahh, mystery solved. Thank for the input. I have a Kennedy half just like this, that one I knew right away was a novelty piece due to crudeness. This one I was not so sure. Probably will still ebay it, just not as an error coin.

Numismat, if this were real...it would be worth quite a lot of $$$.
The only authentic double-sided coin I've heard about is an 1859 Indian Head cent--unique but verified authentic.

There are a couple of others that turned up in a California safe deposit box several years back. They were two tailed quarters and they came from a period when there were a lot of "errors" whose creation had been "helped" coming out of the San Francisco mint.
