Back to the regularly scheduled programming, I did find a pretty decent 1975 copper Memorial cent on the floor at Dollar General.

i managed to find just $6.06 in well-scattered change this past week, a little under the average.. but last night I scored 2 bottles of water and a 24-pack of paper plates (that someone left behind at publix) to go along with the $1.39 I picked... $21.87 on the month so far (coins only) and $275.16 for the cycle (which began on black friday)... the money train keeps chuggin' along..

Does anyone use Fetch Rewards?

no, never heard of it, tho I think many stores nowadays have their own systems of savings, cash back & rewards.. that'd be cool (fetch rewards), because the parking lots here are full of receipts.. I could make a killing..

i received a really nice 1979 LMC in change today, has that certain 'old LWC' patina, which fooled me into putting on my glasses for a better look..

we have strong gusty winds out of the north tonight, in about 2 more hours i'll be in publix' parking lot kicking thru all the debris in the corner with the red curb...

The caveat is you have to use receipts from the past two weeks.

...and btw, it's been a year since I stuck a 2012 bullion ASE into my pocket to train it to be 'lucky'.

i occasionally forget to put it in my pocket, so it doesn't go out with me every night, but I think it has been pretty well-seasoned at this point. I had to sit & reflect on the past year and compare the years with & without the LPP (lucky pocket piece), 2022 & 2023.

the total amount of found coin for each year was nearly the same, with 2023 besting 2022 by just four or five bucks. the total amount of found cash in 2023 was one hundred dollars more than 2022, and diverse; 2022 saw me find only one dollar bills, I think it was 44 in total... there were likely a few instances where I found multiple dollars in the same spot, but I found no larger FRN denominations. in 2023 I scored $100 more in the form of five twenties, a ten, two fives and twenty-four ones.

so I consider all of that- plus the twin benjamins- and I'm inclined to think the lucky pocket piece may be working. I need to carry it around another year. it warrants further application & study.

the first benjamins I have ever picked off the ground. amazing.

WHOA! That's just about my dream find right there. $200 is enough to make paying for life's necessities that much easier (that's over a month's groceries or enough to make rent noticeably less steep for me), but not enough to feel bad about picking it up off the ground and keeping it for myself.

My lucky Pepsi machine brought me $2.50 on Thursday and $1.25 on Friday, all in quarters; Thursday ended up being the best day of the year so far at $3.50 in total. Classes start on Tuesday, so more good finds await

rock on, DiscoLover82. just out of curiosity, how long have you been doing it (pickin' coins & things)? it's been 6 years for me, I began this in early 2018, unsure of exactly what month. my notes suggest i'll top the $3K mark by spring, which pegs a yearly average at $500. I base that prediction on coin finds only, so any FRNs I find will obviously get me there quicker.

6 years.... it started as a curiosity, now it's a priority. it's a small gold mine.

my first great coin find of 2024 happened tonight.

i picked $1.57 in well-scattered change, among tonight's pickins is a coin I'm so happy to have found before it got trashed. picked from a parking lot in front of the Dollar Tree store at 12:30am:
