1935 Connecticut - The Charter Oak - Comemmorative Half Dollar ANACS MS63

My 17th different Silver (1892-1954) era US Comemmorative
Half Dollar

Never thought I'd chase one of these but I always wanted one. This will do.
I think the design is definitely one of the best, I especially like the eagle. There is good detail in this strike.

I still want to get a 1922 Grant that will fit in with these and make it No 18. Of course, I have to find one to make a 6x3 coin collage anyway!

It is a good design, but that cool tree is my favorite part of the design. Great pick-up!

Nice addition to your set. I recently looked at mine sparking a renewed interest in getting the last one I don't have the Hawaiian.

John there was only 1 Grant on that site with pvc damage. I'm actually not in a huge hurry for Grant but I'll probably end up with one soon. Last one muddler!
Get that Hawaiian.

Very nice example - I can see from the larger photo that your collection is coming along well.

I'm sure you realize the following ... but just to be sure:

The 1935 Connecticut Tercentenary Half Dollar was designed by Henry G. Kreis and he deployed that 'modernistic' eagle on the reverse.

In 1936 Kreis was also responsible for the design of the Bridgeport (CT) Centennial Half Dollar - where he deployed a similar eagle design. That coin and eagle is seen in the lower left of your montage photo.

Personally, I like both eagles.

I did pick up the Grant today.
Scratches are on the slab. Better picture might replace this ugly one in the near future.
My collage has been updated above.

He moved to second from bottom far right after working on my collage.

Jadey, I'm glad this caught your eye. There are a few very expensive issues that I'll never have. We have some members who have the complete set!
