What's a fair asking price? A friend needs the money and will sell to me. It's uncertified.

The photo isn't clear, but that sure looks like one of the well known Chinese fakes. Tread carefully

Most likely fake, but this pic tells us nothing for certain. Beware of friends bearing gifts.

An accurate, in-focus photo would be useful. Concur that it looks wrong based on the image provided.

With friends like that who needs enemies? It looks like this coin is being kept in a sandwich bag. If that is the case, then that should be a sign too. You know what.....Tell him you want to go down to a local coin shop to get a free estimate of the value....many will do that......and tell him you'll go with him so he/she knows....If he /she doesn't want to go for your benefit or tries to say I already know the value...just say.. well I don't. At that point.... he/she ain't your friend and you'll know it. My job is done.

Fake as a $3 bill . How close of a friend is he or she ? You may want to confront said friend with the bad news ?

Your friend may not know it is fake. He too could have bought it thinking it was real.

That's why you have to test the friend to find out if they're really friend or foe. Find out if something is rotten in the state of Denmark and not just the mint mark...so to say

As it's mentioned that's a fake coin, obviously you have a fake friend dumping a fake coin on you.So find some fake paper money like game paper money and give it to him in exchange.
