Last year I started buying Morgan dollars. I like the clashed varieties. I am wondering if anyone has seen any fake clashed Morgans? The fakes I've seen on the internet are not clashed. If a Morgan is clashed is it less likely to be fake?

You can never be sure. They make counterfeit off-center Morgans, for example. Personally, I have not seen a fake clashed die Morgan, but that does not mean they don't make them.

Seems like two different questions - are they deliberately faking a specific known die clash, and are there fakes with accidental clashes. I would say no and yes, but for the latter they could certainly accidentally duplicate a real clash. To purposely do it though, just thinking out loud, wouldn't that be rather difficult and expensive?

And of course if the coin they use as the model for their fake dies shows a clash, so will their fakes. I once had people telling me that if a coin had die cracks then it wasn't a fake. That made no sense to me because if the model coin had cracks so would the fake, plus do you expect me to believe that counterfeiters dies never crack?
