Janknez, nice Franklin and great pictures. Maybe you meant PF60?

Yes, I did. I so seldom have proofs that I got my terminology all wrong. Thanks.

Do you think it makes PF60?

I'm no Frankie expert, but that one looks like a lock for PF67, maybe 68, probably Cameo to boot. Beautiful coin, but not uncommon, so probably not worth the cost of slabbing.

I just acquired one I'm pretty happy with, so there'll be another post later tonight with pics.

janknez, Beautiful coin. I have very few in my Franklin collection that come close to looking like that one!

Sorry, late reply. I'm not so good with grading proofs, I'm still learning to grade UNC.

Thanks Gary and SuperDave --

I really think this was a bargain for $6. Glad others also see what a great coin this is. This one is NOT going into the Whitman folder with the other Franklins. That's why I bought it, but when I got it home and decanted it from its little cardboard holder, I couldn't bring myself to stick it in there. It's in my main collection now -- and a wonderfully eclectic bunch it is too.

Thanks again for your encouraging words.

This came in the mail today :)

Can't afford a real gold UK sovereign, so this 1951 Commemorative for the Festival of Britain will have to do until I have money to spend :)

2 more for my Proclamation coin collection

1799 Great Britain Farthing

Buy-Of-The-Week

1799 Great Britain Half Penny

Buy-Of-The-Week

Technically neither of these coins is a Proclamation coins as neither were included in the Proclamation document. However, within a week of the Proclamation a ship from England arrived with thousands of these coins for the colony of New South Wales. Apparently they were traded at double their face value within the colony and thus could be considered as members of the Proclamation coin collection.

I went to the coin store today, and the owner, who is always friendly, seemed even more so this time.

He gave me what I think was some pretty good deals on Buffalo nickles.

They included:

1936 VF, $1.00
1935 F, $1.00
1926 VG, $1.25
1937 D, VF, $2.50
1936 S, VF, $2.50
1920, G, $2.00
1929 S, VF, $2.00

I didn't bother to look up values in the Red Book, but the prices seemed pretty good to me.

Rest in Peace

Almost forgot.

I also bought a 1996 W dime. Actually, bought the entire uncirculated set.
