quote: One is 5 Ore, and my Grandpa says it might be from Norway. What makes it strange is that the words and the crown are pushed down or indented into the coin
Is this close? quote: I think is neat is a 10 groschen. Since it says Osterreich on the other side I would guess it is from Austria. It is a 1975 coin
Coinboy, I can't find your anmokpitoz right now. Is there anything else on the coin? Denomination, year? I'll look around some more. Hopefully I got close with at least one of these photos... You kids really need to send your Grandpa to the east coast so that he can take the members over here to coin shops too!!!!!

Today was fun - picked up a bunch of stuff at a local coin show. Got 2 au/MS (haven't dec ided b/c toning messes me up, LOL) dollars, for $12 a piece. a 1922-s and 1923-s Peace for 25 a piece in BU+, 2 ms-62/63 Franklins for $6 a piece (plus they filled holes in my album - YAY!), and a stone mountain in MS-63 for $68. Oh, and a 1946-P MS-63 WL Half for $35. Lots of fun those shows can be...

I just returned home from a visit to my favorite coin store in Grand Junction, Colorado. I always find something I want at International Coin. I bought a 2007 ASE in order to catch my collection up-to-date. Then I bought two coins I think are very attractive. One is now probably the largest coin I own. It's a 1975 50 Francs from France. Silver and BU. The other had just been acquired by the coin store owners, and was offered to me. It's a 1902 Prussian silver coin, (KM523). It has Kaiser Wilhelm on the obverse and an eagle on the reverse. The small letter "A" I assume refers to a mint. I don't know the denomination. I would think it's about AU. Cost me $11.25.

Steve: Thanks so much. I figured it was 5 Marks, but looking at the German word, I wasn't sure. Thanks again!!

I bought a couple of Indian Head cents today. Nothing too impressive - both under $5, a 1900 and a 1909. I've been organizing the box of coins left me by my father-in-law and while he had a fairly full Lincoln series by year and mint from 1909 to the late 60's, these are the first pre-Lincolns in the collection. - Sam

I just finished paying for this little beauty today, but I've had it in hand for a couple of weeks. I managed to get it for VG money (maybe even a bit lower).

Very nice Superdave. I especially like the 3 cent coin. I have been looking for these as well since I am considering having these be my first endeavor to a full set. I just can't decide on the Star 3's or the Liberty Head 3's....Or a different series all together.

The 3CS's are waaaaaay too small for me to consider collecting. I can't even look at one without a loupe. I'm going to go pick up two more this morning that will probably become the two most significant coins in my collection. Be looking for individual threads on each.
