I realize the coin is beat but it is 84 years old. But is the double e in e pluribus unmum a double or die wear or something else? Still newbie at this but trying to figure some of these strange finds out to gain some knowledge.

Need sharp close up of reverse but just the E is highly unlikely to be doubled .

It's a damaged nickel (not nickle).

And it is called a Buffalo nickel.
Indian Heads are cents.

That's the 2nd time I've heard this recently on CCF .
Back in the early 60's we called them Indian Head Nickels .

——Your coin is not the 1935 DDR.

——"Indian Head" nickel is just as correct as "Buffalo" nickel. To each his own.

Can't answer your question from this small pic.

Completely agree - the term "Indian Head" for Buffalo nickels was common in the old days.

Usually you don't see much doubling in that area. But there is one for 1935:
1935-Indian-Head-Nickle.
Note note, it is not just the 'E' that is doubled. Other devices around that area is also affected.
