2016 American Silver Eagle / ASE Doubled Die Obverse?

SilverStackerKid Pillar of the Community United States 6478 Posts	Posted 02/20/2019 10:41 pm Hey guys, I was looking closer at my 2016 ASE and was wondering if you guys thought this was a doubled die. I'm not good with silver eagles, as circulating coinage is more my area. I see some Machine Doubling but also some evidence of a doubled die. Thank you guys for taking a look and letting me know what you think. A lot of the doubling is above the date, along with very doubled designers initials. Report this Post to the Staff

James said that he saw Machine Doubling on my 2 doubled die silver eagles. I sent him the picture of this coins designer initials so hopefully he will reconsider. Oh well. I don't know. CelticKnot Bedrock of the Community United States 12870 Posts	Posted 03/10/2019 03:41 am Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I thought that doubling in U.S. coins after the mid-90's were almost exclusively of the "machine" variety due to the way that modern dies are created. Regardless, it looks like Machine Doubling to me. Report this Post to the Staff
