Hi everyone, I bought this coin a while ago and got it fairly cheap.

I don't think its cleaned and it has more lustre in real life on the photo. My eye suggests its at least EF and possibly AU, but I did only pay a VF price for it.

Not interested in selling, more a test of my coin grading skills.

If it helps I paid $34 NZ for it (About $21 USD)

VF price makes it an OK buy
I agree: somewhere between EF and Au.

Agree EF-AU sharpness, but the surfaces on the portrait side seem a bit splotchy. Perhaps just the lighting.

would say its around the EF range, the dings are hard to tell how deep they are , but I tell this is not a AU coin too many dings/scratches for it to be so.

Dings are very common for this coin, as apparently they fell off the conveyor belts into drums hitting other coins and they were also Sterling silver, so hence very soft coins. It is hard to find them without huge gouges and dings on them.

I'd agree with EF or thereabouts but yeah, big heavy coins attract lots of bagmarks unfortunately.

I will go with a EF to gEF, however many distracting dings and gouges which brings it down to gVF with EF details.

Still a nice coin and worth the $30 or so I paid for it.
