Hey, I was reading a recent post about another quarter with a rim cud(the quarter was 1983 if I recall), and I remembered I had found this one. I received it in change probably 4 months ago.

Since I'm not into collecting errors/varieties, I was wondering if there was any value here. If so, I'll throw it up on ebay or what not so I can use the funds for other coins. Thanks!

Nice find! I would put it at $6.00, no more than 7.

I just sold a similar, but slightly larger Cud on a super-nice B/U 2005 WV quarter. Went for $11, so I'd say getting $7 for yours would be about right.

Very nice Cud! My guess is $5-$8 approx.
also, it would be labeled as " Cud" and not "rim Cud" because it extends out from the rim. A rim Cud would be confined to only the rim.

A super fun find! I've searched almost 1000 boxes now and never found a Cud like that. A few small rim Cuds and that's it.

I agree-nice Cud. Good luck with your auction.

Back when the States quarters were in the hayday, a Cud like this would bring as high as $85. So the price posted here seems to low to me. They are not all that common.

The Colorado quarter design was prone to die weakness to the left and to the right of Longs Peak.* On the vertical-strike Bliss presses still in use in Philadelphia in 2006, this weakness generated a decent variety of Cuds.

It looks fairly close to a listed Cud, CU-25c-2006P-02R(CO) on cuds-on-coins.com. That said, I see some small differences, but that may be either the pictures or a slightly earlier or later progression of the Cud. It doesn't quite match CU-25c-2006P-10R(CO) or CU-25c-2006P-12R (CO). If it isn't a match for CU-25c-2006P-02R(CO), it might be a new listing.

*Officially, the mountain on the coin was just a representation of a typical Colorado peak. Those of us in NorCo darned well recognize Longs Peak when we see it out our windows every day.

I took a look on that site Fortcollins and I came to the conclusion of 02R as well. Thanks for the input!
