Waaaay back in the 70's my sister gave me this brown jug which I used all these years for pocket change! Now she wants the jug back. LOL so I dumped over a hundred pounds of coins from it this morning and found three tiny gold coins in the mix! I'm lucky the bottom didn't fall off from the weight! Let the hunt begin!

I am hoping that the gold coins are real. Also, I would search through all of that change for errors and varieties.
Errers and Varietys.

Wow! Congratulations! And the jug itself looks like a fairly collectible piece of history as well. Glad it did not break.

Could we see some close up shots of the "gold" coins please. Should be some early 80's in there. Good luck with the hunt.

Wow! That is really cool! That looks like it will be hours of coin searching fun ... I am curious though why does she want the jug back if you have had it for so long?

Modern day version of a Roman coin hoard. Container copper, not terra cotta.
Romans never had paper money.

Two of those Gold coins seem to be 1/10th ounce bullion pieces, one a 1/20th ounce. Don't know about the irregular shaped piece.

@Vivian410 Finally the jug fits her decor. You can take the girl out of the country but you can never take the country out of the girl! LOL

@Errors and Varieties, yes I'm pretty sure they are real! I must have had them in my pocket years ago and put them in the jug inadvertently. And yes I plan on searching all of these coins. BTW did you see COOPs overlay on the Idaho quarter?

@DrDon, I have dozens of these tiny gold coins but I think the earliest I have is 1984. Is there something special to look for in those?

@sel_691 I have a cup full of these tiny coins but most are so bad that any detail can't be seen. Any suggestions on how to clean them up?
