This pleasant-looking and lovely original circulated Bust half is a nice addition to my CBH collection. It has the bonus of being an O-134 (attributed on holder) which is an R4 variety.

How do you think PCGS graded this 1827 Capped Bust half dollar?

I'll bet you're right - eye appeal will win out on a narrow vote.

I'd grade it F12 but could see a F15 since it has good eye appeal.

F12 maybe F15 no way they put it in a VF holder with that much wear on the reverse, if so I'll eat the coin, that is if paralyse will send it to me for eating! LOL

F-12,
but cameo wear should not be allowed to affect the grade,
enhance eye appeal only.

these are one of the more difficult for me to grade due to weak strikes in this series. the lettering, hair and LIBERTY are all saying F15, reverse F12. I have to net it to F12

BH, Westcoin & SEL nailed it. PCGS F12
I think it has really strong appeal for a 12.

Thank God paralyse - I really wasn't looking forward to having to swallow a half dollar, well the swallowing might be the easiest part it's the discharging I'd probably live to regret.
