I opened up my 2 uncirculated sets today to look at the W cents cause I had read there was a lot of problems with their quality.

I got one of the uncirculated cents with a mark right before the (in) on the in god we trust.

The other one was a Reverse proof cent that should have been a regular uncirculated cent. It has a dark spot by the (ST) of staes on the reverse.

My 8 year old grandson could do a better job at packaging these correctly.

I have both of the proof sets and both cents are flawless. In a week or so I'll have three mint sets and think they'll be just fine. I can say that over many years, since the mid-eighties, I've never experienced any bad situations. Maybe I'm just lucky.

I stopped ordering stuff from the Mint a long time ago. Proof sets ending up having little value and Mint sets are just for opening and using coins for my Albums.

and sorry that your ordering experience wasn't a good one.

I had no issues with any of the six W cents I received and I don't care about market value of the sets. This is a collection for me, not an investment.

My W Cent has a little mark above the date. It was free so I am not going to worry about it. I am not opening the package to inspect it for now.

Don't hesitate to return them if you are not happy with them. This year is the first time I have ordered from the mint in well over thirty years, and I am pleased that my three pennies came in very nice condition. However, one order was messed up where I got an uncirculated set with the uncirculated penny when I had ordered the silver proof set and reverse proof penny. The mint personnel were very helpful, provided me a postage paid return label, and by next week I should have the right set. Those things happen.
