Love it !! .... IMHO, this coin should be double-beaned. Seeing it out-of-hand, it strikes me as an MS coin. I'd bet that this coin has as much eye-appeal as some MS examples out there.

Jadey: Yes there is Die Deterioration. I was Referring to the Die scratch on the reverse from the A In America circling counter clockwise to the rim in front of the second arrow That's a DAMAGED DIE not Die Deterioration.

That circular die crack on the reverse is characteristic of Overton-106, a result of a late stage die.

Amazing! And I think, since you have already said the true view pic is off, your picture makes it look a lot nicer. Beautiful coin!

Spectacular! I agree that it looks to be a low mint state. Must have been one examiner in the group short on the final grade, hence the plus designation. A great addition none the less.

Quote: So was it a find in a collection, or a new purchase? Nice coin, thanks for sharing. It was purchased raw, and most likely from an old collection. The coin was on consignment to the person I bought it from.

There is clear circulation wear on the high points, so I agree with the grade completely. Lovely lustrous beauty!

They shouldn't be given the "there's not enough MS coins for this issue" bump. It is correctly graded as-is, and will likely sell for much more than a normal AU-58.

58+ coins generally sell for MS money as is because of everyman sets. I'm not sure why TPGs look past the technical grade on early coinage, it's just something that seems to happen. If you look at other CBHs graded 62, often times you can find slight rub on high points.

I'll take personal eye-appeal over the numbers every time!
