Girl friend is trippin, she found this beat up 1930 Wheat penny with what looks like an error.
We are newbies but we enjoy the thrill of finding errors and rarities. We would very much appreciate any insight on this neat looking error. And if it has any significant value. Thanks.

to CCF. Photo is a bit blurry, looks like a die chip or something else filling the zero. Wait for a pro or two to chime in.

Hello Bigdenn

While I'm certainly not the pro you're waiting for, I have to agree with John1. It looks like the raised portion of the die that punches the center of the zero chipped off.

As for value, I'd guess it added a couple of bucks. You can look up similar sold items on ebay to get a sense of pricing.

But, the great thing about this site is that the pros will comment! They'll help you with the value.

@bd, first welcome to CCF. Second, that could be a broken post as noted above by @john1 and @sf, but an in-focus pic would be helpful to confirm.

By the way, any girlfriend who will join you in collecting coins is a keeper. Just sayin'...

I AGREE with Spence.. Also "broken post" cents most common during the era of the 50's so a 1930 is a nice find however not much added value if any.. to CCF..your found value is in your g-friend as Spence stated above..
