Poll Question
My Poll Question is: What Eisenhower dollar Reverse Design Is Your Favorite? I numbered the designs under the photos to make voting easier. In addition to voting in the poll, feel free to comment on why the design you pick is your favorite. Thanks!

Actually, there is a third choice from the 1990 Eisenhower Centennial dollar, showing Eisenhower's home in Gettysburg. I like this reverse because it has a more personal connection with Eisenhower, much like the Monticello reverse on the Jefferson nickel.

Thanks MJD. I was just thinking of the Original Eisenhower dollar when I started the poll.

While I don't hate #1, I prefer #2. Something about the moon behind the Liberty Bell .... a nice image.

From a unity of design standpoint, neither reverse is particularly compelling. The original reverse was based on the Apollo 11 mission patch designed by astronaut Michael Collins. While Eisenhower had some role in the early space program, the moon landing project was strongly associated with Kennedy rather Eisenhower. Of course, things got even stranger when this same reverse appeared on the SBA dollar. The Bicentennial reverse isn't bad, but there is something unsettling about the Liberty Bell escaping from the Franklin half to collide with the moon! On an unrelated note, it is interesting Eisenhower has appeared on at least four separate dollar coins — the 1971-1978 original, the 1990 centennial dollar, the 2013 five star generals dollar and the 2016 Presidential dollar.

I like them both..they are both unusual designs fitting for an unusual coin, but I went with Design 1. Good insight MJD.

I find design 1 because it is so dramatic. Don't see that often on a coin. Design 2 is perfect for our nation' journey from the Liberty Bell to the moon. Both are inspiring.

I like the Eagle REV as I have always seen it commemorating the most outstanding feat ever accomplished - actually having man on the Moon. But beyond that, the olive branch reminds me that the US did what America has typically done in (factual) American history. The message we left behind claimed the moon landing was not just a uniquely American feat (which it was and still is 50 years later), but the US did not decide to take advantage of well earned bragging rights. Instead the message left was that the moon landing was a feat accomplished in the name of all mankind. Ike is one of my favorite presidents. The manned moon landings are an unparalleled feat half a century later, and Frank Gasparro is one of my favorite "modern" coin designers. Him adding in the re-entry vehicle plume above the Earth plus the tiny golfer right below the eagle are just icing on the cake! http://goccf.com/t/113466&whichpage=2#970179

The inaccurate positioning of the eagles wings drive me nuts every time I see that reverse. So ill pick #1 since I love nuts

Design 2, but with bold lettering. Design 2 has type 1 and type 2 lettering. Your photo shows the type 2 with narrow font.
