Also wanted advice please. I dipped this token in acetone for a few minutes, and gently rubbed with a Q-Tip. It effectively removed about 30% of the dirt around the letters & numbers. Would it be safe to leave it in the acetone longer? How much longer? Over night too long?
Thanks.

acetone has a chance to add a rainbow hue to copper under the right circumstances. you've done enough, and while I can't say for sure what the outcome would be after a 24 hour soak I would encourage you to stop now, rinse it in distilled water and then leave it alone.

it's wonderful coin as is, the risk of permanent damage greatly out weighs the chance of a reward.

The problem of rainbow hue occurs to my knowledge almost exclusively on coins that still have at least a part of their luster. But, I agree with Wade on the rest.

EF-40? I would be very surprised if this token exceeds the grade of VF-30. It is not quite the same sub-variety (If I'm not mistaken NS-1B1 vs NS-1B2), but here is a token with a little less wear graded VF-30 by ICCS:

I'm sorry if my English isn't perfect... I'm learning a little more every day.
