Weight and look. A coin missing clad layer or two will weight less. The look will have the luster or wagon wheel effect to it not a dull look. Coop has some photos of the genuine thing you can compare to. Try using the search box,upper left of page for info.

BTW, I have to take full coin images with my phone bc the zoom on my microscope is broke so these aren't the best pics

Just from the way it looks and after reading this article, I can't rule it out yet. Are there other methods to tell missing clad layers?

I read coop's post about missing clad coins being weak struck. While I wouldn't consider this a weak strike (nor a hard strike), clad layers can come off before and after the strike so I'm still on the fence with this one? Any other ideas? It just doesn't look like every other environmental damaged coins I've seen.

The color would be a lot redder and the strike would be weaker:

Note even on a partial clad missing, how the devices are weaker?

Where are the area with the cladding is a full strike.
Carry it in your pocket a week or two and you will notice the tops of the devices will start turning silver.
