Enjoy viewing your pocket pieces. I'm at VF20/VF25 for this one.

Nice...I'm not good at circ coin grades so I will defer to my colleagues.

Years ago I always had one with me as a lucky coin but no clue why I stopped carrying it...I'll have to search around and reunite with it....

I'd say VF-20. How many pockets do you have?

i have to admit that I rarely see ASEs as worn as that one. most of the ones I see are MS. I can't even remember the last time I saw a nicely worn ASE such as this one. I agree with VF20, though I'm not sure where 'nicely seasoned' might end up in the grading spectrum. lol

I'm skeptical that you would, but intrigued that you may.

ASE's are made from pure silver, which is much softer than the .900 silver alloy, from which coins are made.

As a pocket piece, it will wear down much faster than a Morgan or Peace dollar would.

If you are shooting for a lowball grade, remember that the date needs to be readable. Your two photos are six months apart, and you are starting to see significant wear on the "0" of the date.

I wonder of one possible approach to delay wear on the date would be to cover the date with duct tape to delay the wear. The tape residue should come off easily with acetone. Let's see what others think about this approach.
