Thinking of purchasing this book. Only two reviews on Amazon, just wanted to know if anyone here has any knowledge of this book?

I have also been thinking about buying this book, if it's anything like the other Spink books it's a good reference but doesn't provide a lot of information.

This book wasn't on my radar until now but a quick check at acsearch.info shows a lot of coins attributed by Frynas number. It's hard to imagine how you could go wrong for $48.

@canefane, I have had my Frynas for a couple years now and use it instead of my Huszar for Hungarian coins. I haven't switched completely away from Kopicki for Polish coins, but rather augment those books with Frynas. I didn't have a previous reference for Bohemia, so Frynas is my primary source of info for those coins.

@eddiediz might also be able to weigh in as his specialty (one of his specialties?) seems to be medieval Hungary.

I went ahead and ordered the book. These coins seem to be reasonably priced at the moment. My wife is from Hungary and we travel there and surrounding areas often. Really enjoy history of region.

I don't have this one. I have Huszar and Pohl. Another one I have is Catalogue of Arpadian Coinage that show the sigla varieties of the early Denars. It is a new catalogue;Volumes I and II came out in the past year and a half. Volume III should be out around the end of the summer. Volume I is the early denars with attributable legends, volume II are the anonymous denars, and I am not sure what is going to be in volume III. I am assuming it would cover the Slavonian coinage. I had to order them from Hungary and the shipping is kind of high, but it is well worth it to be able to attribute so many sigla varieties. They incorporate Huszar,Pohl, and Rethy.

Maybe "2 out of 3," as there are not many bargains in Polish coins until you reach the mid-1400s.
