1968 Dollar Half Dollar Coin. 4.g Less?

The main reason it is best to buy silver coins by weight it because they do wear and weigh less. One stat I read said 3% of the gross weight can be lost, which for a clad coin, is around 5-7% silver loss. As I understand it they can also very slightly straight from the mint.
