I have this 1909 P LWC and while I have heard that there are a few cents with the remnants of the VDB on the reverse. Yes, this cent is definitely circulated but with coin in hand I can actually see the abrasion marks where they tried to remove it from the Master die. I can barely make out the letter B. I really need coop for an overlay on this one. For comparisons sake I am enclosing a pic of another VDB reverse that I have on hand. Keep in mind that the pic of the closeup on the cent in question is magnified just a little more than the one with the actual VDB reverse cent.
I'm not sure I'm understanding the possible significance of this one.
1909 had many dies with the VDB reverse. What would be the significance if this one had a VDB almost polished away (and it wasn't the effects of PSD)? Thanks for helping a feller understand.
I have heard of the possibility of 1910's with light remnants of a VDB on the reverse since there may have been some left over VDB dies from 1909 that needed to be repurposed.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
