For those doubting the pricing is real and asking why to get it graded. Granted that is a Baltimore one so more expensive but still gives a good idea

I don't get why some assume that the "PR70's that will flood the market next week" are going to drop the prices. We have had thousands of listings, and of them many raw ungraded coins are continuing to sell for the $1200 range, and many of these have been "opened". So this idea that all of a sudden we are going to see a huge population of PR70s push down prices is a bit far-fetched. I do believe that prices will eventually stabilize, but I do not believe we will ever see PR70s below $1000. Those buying right now are not buying to flip in the near future. These are a low mintage population with lots of demand, so while hype will die down, collectors will still be providing a lot of the demand. The flippers already bought for $65, not $1000. If I would guess, $500-$1200 will likely be a price floor for the ungraded coins, $1200-$1500 or so for PR69, and $2000-$5000+ for PR70 depending on how many are graded and whether or not the COA # is on the label or not. I'm not going to guess how much a 1-100 COA on label + PR70 would go for but I would not be surprised by $10,000+

They are buying to keep and thus the coins are removed from near future availability...

I will always keep in the back of my brain the dealer that offered me $500 for a sealed box the day after I got an order in.

I thought about it for 24 hours and in the meantime he said his price was down to $475 and gave me two hours to grab it....I said yes in 10 minutes....and waited for confirmation....and waited..3 1/2 hours passed and I said screw it and told him HIS imposed two hour limit had passed and I was no longer interested....

I think that bit of delay/fate worked out just fine....

Lol sounds like a great guy to deal with. Only someone who isn't the sharpest tool in the shed or has questionable practices would be trying to lower their offer on these while everyone else was upping their offer

Nice one Foxwoods, Imagine the dealer imposes time limit and lowers his offer on THE hottest coin of the year.
Can't believe he did that. Hahahahahahahahha so glad you kept the coin.

Imagine those who sold to Pinehurst for $150 or worse APMEX for $50. They must be having some serious sellers regret.

Anyone who took the 50 that really is on them, it wasn't hard to see that was an insanely low offer right off the bat

Here is my story about purchasing the 2019 ASE S ERP. Some may call me a hypocrite and that is fine but when I first learned about this mint offering several months ago, I knew I wanted 2 of them. I did get fortunate and accomplish that with somehow getting lucky on day one as my first order went through at 11:14 am CST while my 2nd attempt failed. I paid attention to advice here and bought the 2nd one the next morning at 6:31 am CST. I have both in hand as the first one was at the post office this last Monday morning and the second was delivered Tuesday afternoon. Why do I want 2? Because I have a demented greedy method of constructing my ASE collection. I much prefer all my coins to either be in OGP or NGC & PCGS holders. I just don't do much with folders or books. With ASE's, I have decided I wanted to collect them both ways. I have all versions in OGP which, in addition to all the Mint boxes and folders, I have all bullion years in US Mint 20 coin tubes. I, then, collect all of the same in PCGS holders that whether MS, SP, or Proof, are graded 69. Again, in my greedy state of mind, I also have purchased all the bullion coins designated by which mint they supposedly struck at. This, I think, just gives me another excuse to purchase another one. The only ASE that I own that is not in a PCGS holder but in an NGC holder is my 2008 Burnished with the Reverse of 2007, and that is a story unto itself. Other than that, I do not yet own a 1995 W in either packaging and I have not yet purchased the PCGS holder version for the 2019 Pride of 2 Nations set that I want to do with both US & Canadian coins in PCGS holders and listed as from a "Canada Set" along with Canadian mint packaging. So, did I prevent another collector from acquiring one? Maybe, but I only bought 1 on the first day and I'd rather think that I, instead prevented a non-coin collecting speculator from succeeding. Now my good or bad luck will come down to which unopened box do I send to PCGS? I'll let my 3 kids make that decision through chance. The best return would be a Proof70 (good possibility) with a hand-signed COA (extremely low possibility). Worst would be no signature (Likely possibility) with a grade of 68 or lower (Low possibility), after which, upon opening the other, to discover that my OGP version likely meets one or both of those positive possibilities and it is now too late.

Send both. If you really want a raw one you can crack the one that isn't a 70 or if you're lucky enough for 2 70's sell one and then buy a raw one

Loren, you can write a thousand word dissertation. It doesn't change the fact that you violated the household limit and cheated a fellow collector. BTW, what you did doesn't make you a hypocrite. That would be if you did it and told others it was wrong to do the same thing.

I can accept that criticism and though I am a strong capitalist, in my idyllic perfect world, which is not possible; all collectors would have been seated at the table first to fulfill their needs before any speculator was allowed in. But that is not how markets are made. I do not believe it is any Dept. of the Govt.'s business to create any situation or rarity like this. I would much prefer that the mint, when they create a special coin for release, instead of putting it up for sale at a particular time of day and impose household limits, creating an internet issue, instead announce the design well in advance so all can know about and make decisions about whether they want to purchase or not, and then announce a period of time of at least 24 hours where anyone who wants one or more can log on, phone, etc. & place an order and pay for it before the mint ever produces any and then mint them to order. I had the same problem happen to me when the Truman Coin & Chronicles set was released and I couldn't make my order go through. At where they price out today on ebay, I just can't see spending that amount of money, and what is being said about this 2019 ASE pricing, I also doubt I would buy one that way.
