Hello, I'm still new to this but some of you people have gotten me where I do believe I can see the difference between Machine Doubling and DDO / DDR. Although it's quite difficult with damaged super circulated coins. (We'll see) These pics are from a 1972 P I found this evening. Tell me what you think of this obverse. Thanks

Nice, Looks like a good DD. Any picts of "Liberty"?

I bought a lcd microscope and had horrible issues with glare. Returned it and bought a cheap Amazon usb endoscope. Still having problems with glare. Any tips would be great. Here's some terrible pics of liberty. By the way all the letters are much fatter than any of the other 1972's I've got.

Looks like a DDO to me. Check the reference sites for a match.

Definitely a DDO, I'm thinking DDO-007.

Hello Jenchris76,

Very nice find!

Put me down for the WDDO-007 variety also. You were able to capture one die marker (gouge under the R in LIBERTY).

Who do you guys use wexlers coneca or variety vista? Also any tips or recommendations for purchasing a microscope/endoscope that doesn't have glare issues?

Hello Jenchris76,

We use them all! But in this post I ended up using Wexler (doubleddie.com).

Note: Not one site lists all of the doubled dies (for what ever reason e.g. very minor DD).

I use VV primarily, but go to others when needed.

I agree. You have DDO-007. Looks like a die gouge that I see coming up from the rim below the VDB on Lincoln's bust. Nice find! I go to coppercoins.com for Lincoln's as they list more die states and markers for a particular variety.

Awesome find and congratulations! Definitely not Machine Doubling, as the doubling is enlarged in size, not reduced.
