I look forward to seeing what you have there.

Ok thanks for posting a picture of your coin. I have taken the liberty of cropping, rotating, enlarging, and enhancing it.

Here is what I see: the date appears to be 1981. The gouges on George's cheek and behind his head are damage. Also, it appears as though this coin has been flattened somewhat. That would account for the odd lack of details over the right half of the coin. Alternatively, that could be lightly struck due to grease in the die, but that isn't what it looks like to me.

Finally, there does appear to have been a slight misalignment in the die when this was struck. To confirm, we would need an image of the reverse of this coin. With the damage to this coin though, I'm quite sure that you could find a better example of MAD. I would spend this coin rather than save it.

Doesn't really matter the date. The coin is damaged. Very spendable. Not a mint error.

Question: What are you looking for when you checking your change. A lot of coins out there. What are you trying to find? Know what is collectable will help a lot. Know what is common and what is a true collectable is the difference between a premium coin or a face value coin. Your response please?
