This is a hard coin to locate in grades above AG. I'd call this one VG-8 for details. Rims are strong and there is a lot of detail remaining. Unfortunately, it looks a bit bright in the centers and the obverse field is noticeably darker between the letters than in the open areas. This appears to be evidence of cleaning. Still, it it has more appeal than probably 80% of the examples I've seen.
Did the seller represent it as cleaned? Hopefully you paid less than the going rate for an original VG-8 example.

I'd grade F-12 overall. The obverse would probably grade VG-10 from a strictly technical standpoint, but the reverse seems considerably better. I do agree that it looks too bright for the grade, but yeah, these are really hard to find in any decent condition. Bidded on a few and lost all of them.

I would go F-12 cleaned. I wavered between VG & F , almost went VG as it appeared a little granular, but detail won.

Of all problems designations, a light cleaning is one I mind the least as long as it's not distracting. I do believe a good portion of collectible coins have been cleaned/wiped at one time or another since it was not taboo until recent times.

VG10. I agree that the obverse has the suspected cleaning look on the devices.

Like everyone's said Reverse is Nice. Obverse is also nice just not as much so.
Not enough letters in Liberty remaining for me to go with F... Maybe if the the front had the same characteristics as the back.
I'd auction it as a minimum 8 but wouldn't be surprised if you caught F money for it as these are hard to find.

It looks like to me to be a G8+ and the obverse was cleaned buy rubbing ones finger over it to remove some dirt or tarnish that made the coin look ugly to use kid collector (forty years ago) back then there was no grading companies and it only went up to unc every day I wish I knew then what I know now. we even used erasers on coins anything to make them look nicer
