Is there moisture on some of these coins? If so they will turn green in time. Make sure they are totally dry before closing them up.

Coop, they're still sealed in their original pliofilm packaging. Should I take them out and do anything specific?

USSID18, I'm not sure either. There is no damage on the pliofilm so it must have happened before it was packaged.
Rest in Peace

Looks like some kind of environmental damage going on in the storage area of these coins . Try taking them out of that funky plastic , that crap might just be on the outside of the plastic . If not , the only other thing you can try is soak them in acetone but if it doesn't work then there's not much you can do to save them .
In the future always be environment conscience with your coins .

You don't see damage anywhere on the plastic cellophane like this one?

Hey Tbop. No, that crap is definitely on the metal. It's pretty obvious the way it wraps around the reliefs of the coin. And the pliofilm looks like all my other mint sets. This is the way they came to me! so I'll pass that advice on to the US Treasury for you

It must have happened after the coin was struck.
