Have you tried depressing the area with a toothpick?

Really unusual shape for one of these DDRs, might be a linear plating bubble.

I originally thought plating blister but after further examination including better photos I am now leaning towards DDR. I did press this area with a toothpick several times and then dragged the toothpick over the area. The area in question is too small to see if contact causes movement but I haven't noticed any change in shape from the toothpick contact. I also don't see any similar looking blisters on the coin (except for the smaller textured lines on obverse). They do look similar to blisters but don't they also look similar to the various DDR's (or UFO's) listed in this area?

How do I to choose where to send this off to get authenticated and/or attributed?
Thanks!

The third example is probably the best image. You could email the image to James Wiles: http://www.varietyvista.com/01a%20L...01/index.htmEmail address on lower part of the page. You might email him first to see what he thinks first. Then let him make the call.
