The only other nickel of mild interest from the nickel bag last night. I don't have time to take images of the whole reverse but it's one of the better nickel dies I've seen. Most just don't do it for me but this one is pretty striking (pun intended again!). 1961 Jefferson nickel tripled die DDR-013, FS-801    Edited by tropicalbats

Thanks for the kind remarks! Coop, not sure I can get pics for you soon, as being gone for much of the summer and all of the fall ha me really busy here right now and just doing up images of a couple things I find might be of interest here. Send a PM and remind me next month and I'll pull it out and do a full set for you. GF, hah! There is little intention to move on to nickels, but a few times a year I get a giant bag of album knocks out from a dealer and skim them for the few things I know to look for. I check the proofs, 1938 and 1939 and not much else, although I pull any counterstamps or obvious errors I see. Lots of older nickels up to and including uncirculated coins so it's usually a good set but have never found a nickel person to pawn it off on so just bulk it off on ebay for whatever it brings. |

Nice one! Especially considering proof varieties are usually more difficult to locate than business strike.
