Here's another example of some of my early bidding/buying skills, or I should say lack of. The grade I assigned to it was what I believed it to be about 4 years ago when I bought it, but after posting my first 25 silver dollars, and after some harsh but brutally honest opinions on some of those, I'm taking another look at each coin I submit, and now see that under a loop and under not so starry eyed amateur optimism, this coin has been cleaned as well. Had it not been cleaned I think my AU-58 grade would have been close to the mark. What do you think?

Looks like it had uncirculated detail before the scrubbing started. Too bad a previous owner spoiled it.

As our opinions roll in, you may not need to ask about the last 150 of your coins!

Oroile ...... that's 225 more +, and what do you mean by that? That I'm getting good enough at grading and I don't need your opinions, grading and instruction, or you're already tired of looking at my not so perfect silver dollars?

Kauai - ignore Oriole - I don't understand why that comment was made. Keep posting. I am appreciative of what you have and am learning every time.

AU details. cleaned.
KauaiHawaiiGuy just a side note based on your previous posts. so far I would not submit any of those posted it would be cost prohibitive to do so. keep posting and maybe we'll find some along the way. keep in mind that to make it worthwhile they should have a value of at least $100. personally I wouldn't slab anything less than $150 but that's just me. once you pay the fee's and shipping and insurance both ways it gets pretty expensive. ANACS is running a special I think through the end of this month at least to grade 10 for $10 each plus shipping and insurance comes out to something like $16 each. that's about the cheapest you can get. PCGS is at least double that or even a little more than that. I just sent some to both and PCGS cost me $42ea both ways per coin. as you can see thats half the value of a $100 coin and not worth doing.

Panzaldi ........ if you read where I said submit someplace, it was referring to me submitting them here for evaluation and grading, not to a grading company for actual grading. I may have fallen off of a cabbage truck, but I didn't fall off yesterday! I still have another 225+ to post here, and in that bunch I do have a few that I think might be worth grading, but nothing I've submitted here so far for you all to evaluate. There are a couple of 1886 S's, a 1903 S, a 1883 S, 1892 S and some others, but they'll be down the list later. Thanks though for your concern and trying to help me be not be a dumber crap than I already am.
P.S. Re-reading what I wrote above I find it amusing that the program changed a word for me, and I hadn't even noticed ....... I said "not be a dumber s__t than I already am", and it decided that "not be a dumber crap than I am" would be better word mastery than s__t .............. sanitizing the internet without your knowledge. I wonder if "Tom Sawyer" would have been a classic, or sold any copies at all if Mark Twain had written it today on the internet and the unseen word police changed what he wrote so as not to offend a single snowflake.

AU details, harshly cleaned. I agree with JJ, you should continue posting. Your photos are pretty good, and it's a great way to improve your grading and to learn how to interpret photos for future purchases.

@kauai, sorry, I didn't mean any offense. It was intended as a compliment.
It was a poorly worded way of saying that you are figuring out the system well, and may have an excellent understanding long before you post your last silver dollar.
Nobody is sick of the posts, and by all means keep on posting if you want to.

Oriole ........ no problem, I wasn't sure how to take it that's why I asked. If you say it was a compliment, then thank you, but I think you may think more of my grading skills or understanding than I do. Who knows, by the time I get that number 250 out, I just might know something ........ maybe.

Well, @kauai, you seem to very interested in learning, which is a good thing.
I read somewhere that certainty is the greatest barrier to learning and your approach of not assuming that you are right will definitely help you learn.
