What a joke. Compare the grades and ask why anyone would pay NGC (or any of them).

ICCS VG-10
Why-You-Shouldn't-Pay-For-Grading

PCGS F-12
Why-You-Shouldn't-Pay-For-Grading

ICCS-VF-20
Why-You-Shouldn't-Pay-For-Grading

NGC VF-20
Why-You-Shouldn't-Pay-For-Grading

NGC VF-35
Why-You-Shouldn't-Pay-For-Grading

The NGC VF-35 has the same detail as ICCS-VG-10.

And that is why , after a 10 X glass , the only tools you need in your " Coin Tool Box" are
A pair of scissors for the ICCS flips and a Hammer and cutters for busting the slabs .
The ability to grade yourself is a huge plus in this business .

From these grades, ICCS is far more correct on their grades in comparison with NGC and PCGS.

For certain. ICCS is the more reliable of the TPG's but they are off so much they can't be considered as reliable anyway.

Break 'em free, and mark your own realistic grading opinion on the 2x2.

Yes, I agree with all comments, grade the coins yourself the only thing about a coin in a holder, it may sell quicker that way.

Jack - your words ring true, that is, until you get into the choice example, where prices can climb fast.

I rarely send a circulated coin for grading, unless it is a really rare variety or error type (the latter saves you the headache of trying to convince someone who doesn't know errors, as to the validity).

However, I digress, because I just started this set, and it could be fun to do over time.

Cool, thanks!! This is just for fun... I have already chased a number of lowballs to help a friend complete a set - he displayed it at the RCNA last year. I totally get how collecting Lowballs is a popular thing in the US.

I thought that your running mate had the inside on all the lowballs. Are you trying to get under his skin?

The companies make way too muh money by keeping their systems subjective. They could have been using verifiable scanning to grade years ago with the results always being repeatable. Its the subjectivity and people's faith, and people following the mobs that keeps them going. One day when someone makes an iPhone app. for grading (tech is there with its 30K instantaneous IR scanner for face identification) the Beanie Baby market will be seen for what it is.

BTW - I personally believe if someone understands the reality of the situation, but likes to collects slabs simply b/c they like slabs, then collecting slabs can be a lot of fun. Hobbies are about fun - so all the more power to them!
