Bought this as an upgrade to my 7070. It's actually been quite awhile since I have purchased any classic coins for my collection. My first Carson City as well.

It replaces a 1876-P that was just ok, with signs of an old cleaning. So here she be:

Agree with VF details. Definitely an upgrade compared with a cleaned Fine Philly piece. This one however also appears to have been cleaned. Still, it's a CC!

Perhaps an old cleaning, but I'd say VF-25 straight grade.

I had it at VF30 but I like the idea of having a CC in that slot. always a plus

^ yeah I really wanted to get a CC in my 7070 and the previous occupant of that slot was on the upgrade list. I have a bunch of coins so it seemed a crime that there was not a single CC in the collection. Fixed that!

Well congrats, but if that isn't a partially-cleaned obverse then I've never seen one.

Maybe it's the picture - a quick snap with my iPad - it looks pretty nice in hand and doesn't strike me as cleaned, just a little mottled toning.
