With all that is going on and I'm going stir crazy at home. And to try to get a sense of normallcy. I made a dash to the local coin shop before they are ordered to be closed for the foreseeable future. Since I've been coming to them for a while and as my child works there part time, they are like friends. Basically with everyone buying silver they are doing OK, but he said that classic coins are really slow. So I made a purchase to both support my local small business and as I like IHC. Let me know what you think and thanks for looking.

Quote: Nice looking brown unc Just a minor grading point. The CuNi FE's and IHC's don't come with the color attribute. That's mostly why you don't you don't see it on the slab. Someone way back when decided that!?

Guessing the 6 was polished off on that "18 2" coin.

You mean around United? That's a lamination. I believe it was caused by an air pocket w/in the planchet. Stamping moved the metal around and the weak "shell" split from downward pressure pulling on the metal. Well that was what a fellow collector told me. Pretty cool how it went around the rim. I believe without that lamination this coin would have graded higher. But for the cost/condition I was happy.
