Found a wartime nickel crh, seems like it has light "brass " color coming through the silver. Didn't think silver tones like that?
I still can't believe whoever rolled the nickels didn't notice this one though.

Nice silver find! As for the color, I think it's just toning from something. Not an error that I can see.

Thanks everyone, was very excited to pull silver for the first time and not in horrible condition either I think. Either way. Just thought the brass looking tone was odd for silver.

In an atmosphere with more sulfur in the air, silver tends to turn yellow in color when it tones. (Often in the areas where a lot of factories are smelting iron, the sulfur content is higher there) Thus the yellow color on the coins are blamed on this.

These War Nickels come in a wide variety of colors due to their silver/copper alloy mix.

Take a close look at that mint mark...lots of RPMs for that year...good luck...nice find for only a nickel...
