Just looks like it's normal oxidation of the copper to me.

Whether it's real or not? .....I'll leave that diagnosis to the Lincoln SVDB "experts"!

I have no idea if it's real or not.

But if you do...that coin is worth much over $1000

What album is it in? I would carefully take it out and post one full coin photo obverse and one full coin photo reverse as well as a close up of the date and VDB. Also get a weight. That would be a start on seeing if it is genuine or not.Next step would be sending it to PCGS if you want it slabbed.

Doesn't look like an error, but does look like a $1000+ coin if it's real (which it certainly appears to be). Might be worth grading.

Comparing the color of a 1909 coin with that of a 1983 example can be problematic. In terms of color alone, the 1909 looks like many--not all--but many of the early Lincoln cents I have--maybe several hundred of the thousands in my stash. Copper reacts to environmental agents in interesting ways. Given the lighting in the posted photos, I'd say--in terms of color only--you have a legit coin.

Others can weigh-in on the authenticity of the SVDB.

Copper can take on almost any color of the rainbow in different environmental conditions.

I'm no expert on authentication but here is a link that might help. Maybe mint mark position #4... V.D.B. appears correct https://coinweek.com/counterfeits/c...in-09-s-vdb/

Looks like the real deal. Not sure how it became silver color. Might be from the type of album its in. Could of been from heat. You can heat a copper coin and it will completely turn shiny silver like it was plated. I would get it out of that album and send it to PCGS. Wear gloves too. Dont want any prints to get on it. Take nice full pics of obv and rev when its out.
