I found this penny and didn't know what to think about it. I've never seen this before. Please have a look and tell me what you think.

Sincerely,

It looks like a struck through debris or a lamination. Can't tell as I would need a wider shot. The differences? On a lamination they tend to flow in a straight line, (Even at an angle) and a struck through debris could just affect a smaller area. But larger images might show us more?

A dollar or two. Depending on the year. A Memorial cent, about half a dollar. A hard sale though. On auctions unless they are BU, they are pretty much passed on.

Nice find @bj1. That looks like a lam to me too.

Good example of why whole photos of the entire coin are needed...From your first photo, I really couldn't tell what you had (looked like PMD) then when you backed off the area and showed the whole coin...definitely a lamination error.. nice cent.. 2x2 worthy

Did anyone catch my theory on what lamination peels? Read the tile I added above.

@ coop, yes I read it and only found two typos
1) "tony bits of copper" 2) "mettal stock"

Fixed it. But too late to edit it in the post. Thanks for the correction.
