I bought 7 sets of 1972 UNC sets and the first one I took out of the envelope my wife saw a "blurry". Once I got hope I put it under the scope and sure enough its a 72 DDO. I've tried everyone on VV but its not quite a 001..but close in spots. Great spreading in some places ....others not quite. I hope that this image resizer shows it as good as my pics.

Sorry...ignore the quarter pics. I just had posted a quarter, asking about PMD or Crack.

not a doubled die, just a combination of the doubled master die from that year and some Die Deterioration Doubling. Good eye, but sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Buy one of those inexpensive microscope stands on Amazon for about $20. Just search "Microscope stands" and they should come up.

They have an adjustable depth feature and for a few $$ more that have models with side mounted fill lights. I didn't see those versions when I bought mine, but if I had I would have splurged.
