One more thing.....I saw the "Barak Obama" commercial as a "two coin set". And something they said I found very odd........they said that one was a " Kennedy half dollar" size and the other one was a "Navajo Dollar" size..... "Navajo Dollar" size ?......What on earth does THAT mean !... If they're referring to the Sacajewea Dollar.......she was not "Navajo" at all. She was Shoshone...which are from Wyoming I believe. Sacajewea may never have even met a Navajo in her entire life.....they're from the Southwest.....but anyway......they referred to one of the coins as a "Navajo Dollar" size.....and I just thought that was very odd and strange. I dunno.....Ha Ha.....LoL....maybe the New Jersey Mint sells a "Navajo Dollar" too !......a "Code Talker" coin or something.....so maybe THAT'S what they were talking about !.. .... .....

You gotta be kidding me! This is a complete joke, of course, lots of fools will buy them though. I see a number of these "colored" (don't call me Lohan, lol) coins come into my local coin shop. I liked the one lady that had a few, the owner told her to just spend them!

The 'certificate of authenticity' is for the US Minted " Kennedy half dollar". The Franklin Mint purchased a number of these and 'added' the image of Obama and layerd it in 24k gold. I just saw it on ShopNBC show. mila_

I just saw the commercial. They say that they are from the New England Mint.
Who exactly is the New England Mint? I imagine it consists of a few people sitting in someone's basement, placing stickers on coins.

Just think of all the poor young coin collectors who will wake up X-mas morning and find these in their stockings. Next year they'll be sure to ask for coal instead!

I'm curious how they can call an uncirculated coin that has been painted/colorized still an uncirculated coin. Isn't the coin now considered to be damaged? Which should knock it down from UNC status?

..... ...... You don't get to make an "alteration" to a coin and then expect the same classification. Gold "layering" or "paint", etc. etc. is definately an "alteration" of it's original conscript. Despite some who may have an opinion of it's beauty or appearance once this has been done, it IS a change nonetheless, and a HUGE denigration of it's original beauty, physical, and visual appearance, in my not so humble opinion.
