@dbroo, the arc-like scratch is most likely from a coin rolling machine.

The 9 is just a random pattern in the scratch it's not really a 9. It's like seeing shapes in clouds. The technical name would be Pareidolia.

I'm seeing coin roll crimper damage, and a Pareidolia-induced ripple thing (not a true 9 coming from the mint).
